2: How walking can enhance your wellbeing, creativity and productivity

Walking is as simple as it can get to transform your life. Your hearth rate doesn’t go up a lot, you don’t have to do a lot of effort and you can enjoy the fresh air. Although this is so simple, it gives numerous benefits like enhancing your wellbeing, creativity and productivity but also your physical health, you get sunlight and strengthen your relationships with others if you do it with a friend just to name a few.

As said, walking can improve your productivity dramatically. By walking, you get fresh air and sunlight which helps you to think more clearly. You will also be able to focus for longer periods of time. Apart from that, it also stimulates creativity according to a research of Dr Emma. She divided volunteers into a walking group and a sitting group. After the one group walked and the other group sat for 30 minutes, Emma gave them the task to think of innovate solution, generate unique ideas and so on. The participants who embraced the simple act of walking experienced a heightened ability to connect disparate concepts, visualize new perspectives, and embrace unconventional approaches.

3: Walking meditation

Walking meditation is a mindful practice that combines the act of walking with a meditative state of mind. With each step, you bring your full awareness to the physical sensations of walking, the rhythm of your breath and the present moment. To put it more practical, focus on your breath while you walk and while you are doing that, look at your surroundings without judging. For example, if you observe a tree, don’t think about whether the tree is beautiful or not. Just observe the tree without judging and you will experience a peaceful mind.

4: Walking in Your Daily Routine

Incorporating walking into your daily routine doesn't have to be a daunting task. Start small by taking short walks of 5 minutes during your breaks at work or simply after dinner. If you live within a reasonable distance, consider walking or cycling to your workplace instead of driving. Use technology such as fitness trackers or smartphone apps to set goals and track your progress. Remember, every step counts towards improving your wellbeing and productivity.

Some people are using their phone while walking or listen to music. I would advise you to not use your phone as it will only give you more stress. Listening to music is a good way for some people to destress. If you want to take it a step further, you can not listen to music and practice walking meditation.

5: Conclusion

The important thing I want you to remember is that walking brings peace to the mind precisely because it doesn't overstimulate. It can improve your health, spark your imagination, and boost your output. You can benefit much from this easy activity by including walking in your regular routine and engaging in mindful walking meditation.
